Have some quick questions you want answered with out having to search? See Below:
How do I know if I need a new roof?
If you have shingles blown off the roof.
If the shingles are starting to curl or crack.
If you have water dripping down between the gutter and fascia.
If you have stains in the sheet rock of your home. Also if you have wrinkles in the paint and or blisters in the paint.
If you have water coming into your home.
Can my roof be repaired?
If your roof on your home is less than ten years old.
If the wind has blown off just a few shingles.
If your roofing contractor believes that a repair will work for a long period of time.
What type of roof is best for my home?
To have shingles on the roof the pitch of the roof should be at least a 4 in 12 (every 12 inches the slope raises 4 inches) pitched roof. There is a wide variety of shingles that you can select for a shingle roof. Talk to us at Texas Professional Roofing and ask to see all the selections that are available.
If you have a low slope roof, you can choose from a Tar and Gravel to a Single-Ply roof system. We can help you decide what is best for your home.
What type of ventilation should I use for my home?
Turtle vents work well in most cases, along with the proper intake ventilation. Your roofing contractor can help you figure out what will work best for your home.
Powered vents work good when there is poor intake and the attic area is a large area. These vents are on an automatic control which works on temperature and humidity.
The ridge vent is our most popular vent, with a good intake ventilation system along with the ridge vent it would be the most effective.
How many bids should I get?
The rule of thumb is that you should get three bids, more than three can just get confusing. To choose the three contractors you get bids from, you should ask friends and neighbors if they have any recommendations. Look for a company that has has a dependable Better Business Bureau reportd is insured.
How do I choose the right roofing contractor?
The contractor should be professional in his or her appearance, and their handling of your roofing project.
The contractor should be able to provide you with their proof of insurance.
The roofing contractor should be knowledgeable, and should ask questions about your roofing needs.
You should feel comfortable with your contractor.
